Leopards JV Black Team Holds On for the Win Over Forney North

Led by the hot shooting of Jared Langs, the Leopards turned in a strong first period that ended with a 17-9 lead. North Forney turned the momentum in their favor early in the second with four 3-point shots and a strong full point press to tie the game mid way through the second period. Despite the push Lovejoy was able to regain the lead and head into halftime up 32-27. Lovejoy extended their lead in the third to 51-42 with six different Leopards scoring in the period. Once again the Falcons mounted a comeback forcing turnovers and fueled by the cold shooting of the Leopards pulled to within 2 points with 1:45 to play. The Lovejoy defense stepped up from that point on holding the Falcons scoreless for the remainder of the game and clutch free throws from Jason Harper sealed the win for Lovejoy 59-55.
