City of Lucas Holds Drop-off Recycling

The City will conduct the LAST recycling drop-off event south of the Fire Station (151 Country Club Rd. It’s a vacant lot, south of the Fire Station where the old City Hall used to stand) on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. City staff will be available to assist with unloading vehicles and will be handing out flyers with information on how to sign up for subscription based curbside recycling with Republic Services.

Recyclable Items
Acceptable Items
• Aluminum & steel/tin cans
• Plastic bottles & containers (#1-5 & #7 only) rinsed
• Cardboard, flattened
• Cereal & dry food boxes (with liners removed)
• Completely empty aerosol cans
• Glass - unbroken bottles & jars (rinsed)
• Junk mail & phone books
• Newspapers, magazines, catalogs, phone books
• Shredded paper in clear plastic bags
• Grocery bags that are bundled/tied in a single bag

Unacceptable Items
• Aluminum foil or pie plates
• Any #6 plastics, or plastics with no recycle symbol
• Ceramic cookware
• Drinking glasses
• Household chemicals & paint cans
• Light bulbs (all types) 
• Pizza boxes and trays
• Plastic film of any type
• Paper towels, paper plates, or plastic utensils
• Metals (other than aluminum & steel cans)
• Styrofoam
• Tissue paper or metallic paper products such as gift wrap
• Yard trimmings/waste

Recycle Rule of Thumb – when in doubt, toss it out.
