Leopards JV Soccer Defeats Wylie East

The JV mens team continued their success winning their 13th game in a row and remaining undefeated in district play with a 3-0 win over Wylie east on March 6th. Sophomore Tyler Loop netted the first goal, and eventual game winner, on a penalty kick 20 minutes into the first period. Loop was awarded the penalty kick after being fouled in the box and drilled his penalty kick in the left corner for the goal. Tyler Loop gave the Leopards some breathing room netting his second goal less than two minutes later by beating the charging goalie on a break away and calmly finding the empty net. Freshman forward Maison Callicut added a goal with 10 minutes remaining in the second period to bring the score to 3-0 Lovejoy. Pitching the shutout in goal was freshman goalie Sammy Merrick.

The JV team has already clinched the district championship and looks to remain undefeated in in district in their final game against Royse City on March 23rd.
