Willow Springs Color Guard Wins Gold

The WSMS color guard performed their award winning show titled The River at Lovejoy High School on March 22nd. In the second year of Willow Springs having a program they won the gold medal at the NTCA Cadet State Championship on March 10th at Mansfield HS.  When asked about the program director David Sadler stated, " everyday is a learning journey and these kids just keep pushing, I am so impressed with their work ethic and competitive spirit."  Sadler sees the students every school day since color guard is offered at Willow Springs as a fine art and athletic credit course. Students practice about four hours a week and Sadler noted the students "build coordination, confidence, maturity, and the benefits of being part of a team" while learning the art and discipline required for color guard.
