LISD Camp Improves Soccer Skills
Lovejoy ISD’s soccer camp for girls was held at Willow Springs Middle School from June 11 – 14. Incoming kindergarten through ninth graders spent the week working to improve basic soccer skills. The elementary school girls played individual and partner games. They focused on improving technical skills, decision making and balance, as well as coordination with the ball.
LHS Head Soccer Coach Ian Keeble explained, “Since next year will be my first year as head coach of the girls’ program, I was able to introduce some of my practice philosophy to many of the girls who will be at the high school and middle school next year. All the girls responded really well to what we introduced and I look forward to working with them more next year. The camp went great and I am really grateful for all the coaches and player-coaches who helped out.”
