JV Leopards Earn Right To Battle For District Title

On a breezy night at Leopard stadium the Panthers from Princeton visited to take on the Lovejoy JV team on the pitch. Lovejoy started the night with the wind at their back and kept constant pressure on the Panther defense. Despite several quality scoring chances the game remained scoreless headed into halftime. Princeton used the wind to apply some pressure on the Leopards in the second half but it was Lovejoy that finally broke through with a score with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game. Jamie Finch scored the the eventual game winner on a great finish on a ball from Abhi Rajaiyan. Princeton was unable to match the score despite some chances in the final minutes as the Lovejoy defense held tight. The win moves the JV team to 13-4-2 and a chance to play for a district title the next game vs McKinney North on March 19th at McKinney North.
