Fairview Firefighters Express Gratitude
Throughout the year and a half odyssey that finally resulted in the approval of a bond proposal with which to finance the construction of a new Fire Station No. 1 in Fairview, the town’s fire-fighters remained a mute presence during the back and forth debate, the result of the truly deplorable living conditions they had to contend with because of the deterioration of the town’s original fire station. Fire Marshal Travis Green reached out to the Messenger asking that they pass on their sincere thanks to Fairview’s residents who approved the May 4th bond election by a margin of approval exceeding 70%.
“To those we serve, from all of us at Fairview Fire, we say thank you! On May 4th you overwhelmingly elected to replace Fire Station 1. Your decision has and will continue to have a positive impact on us all. Our morale changed in an instant that night as the results were counted in our favor. We are excited, encouraged, and thankful. While the need was apparent, you still had a choice; you chose to support us, and for that we are grateful. We look forward to celebrating the new station with everyone. Again, from all of us, thank you!”
